Решение о создании Общества с ограниченной ответственностью «Ростовский электрометаллургический завод» официально принято 08.06.2004 года. The construction of the plant began in June 2005. Commissioned in 2007 Serial production of continuously cast billets (CBC) began in January 2008.

On November 29, 2011, the ceremonial commissioning of the second stage of the Rostov Electrometallurgical Plant - a small-section wire mill of Danieli (Italy) with a capacity of 530 thousand tons of rolled metal per year took place.

The mill project was developed simultaneously with the construction of REMZ and is an integral part of the technological chain for the production of high-quality long products - rebar and wire rod.

Construction and installation work began in the 1st quarter of 2011. Hot trials began on September 9, 2011. In the process of debugging the equipment in September-December 2011, about 30.5 thousand tons of fittings were produced. In the first quarter of 2012, 49.2 thousand tons of fittings have already been produced.

The growth of actual indicators of production activity testifies to the effectiveness and prospects of the plant.

At the moment, the stabilization of the production cycle speaks of work at the level of planned production capacity.

On the territory of the plant there is a training center for personnel training.
